IIoT, Industry 4.0 and Quality 4.0: The relationship between Technology and Quality in the Digital Age
This presentation from speaker Sam Golan, Founder and CEO at High QA, Inc., discusses how to move to a digitally connected model for improving the quality inspection and reporting process. It focuses on effectively using automation and collaboration to reach Quality 4,0 goals.
The introduction of interconnected technology is a primary driver of Quality 4.0 as a subset of the Industry 4.0 movement. Digital alternatives to manual inspection gauges and tools move the production floor closer to becoming a smart factory. Yet even today many of the basic tasks at the beginning of the quality phase, identifying individual dimensions and tolerances from the design drawing remain a manual function. That approach continues at the inspection phase where results are frequently recorded on paper then transferred to a spreadsheet for later analysis.
